On the afternoon of August 21, 2000, Bill Burke met with a group of a half dozen corporate training professionals in Chicago.  These trainers gathered to share ideas on performance development and training in the new millennium.  The group unanimously came to agreement on the following:

• Almost every employee wants to do a good job.  For themselves.  For their families.  For the organization.
• Leaders encourage, inspire, and motivate their teams to higher levels of performance by making performance matter.

Committed to the goal of making performance matter to others and to teaching managers how to make performance matter, the seven trainers formed the Knock Group, an affiliation of trainers who could be called upon to contribute their expertise as needed.  Over the last twenty years our group has changed but Bill still leads the Knock Group today.
